Mendix export to excel not supported by current data source

Question

I want to export to excel in my Data Grid in Mendix project, to do that simply "Add button" and chose export to excel. But the option is locked and show the below message:

• not supported by current data source

How to export to Excel in Mendix?

Add button export to excel in Mendix

To Add the button you must change the data source type to XPath because this function is only supported in XPath type.
To change the data source type follow the below steps:

1. Go to the properties or Double click in your Data grid.
2. Navigate to Data source tap.
3. change the Type to XPath, click OK.
   
4. Now you can add Export to Excel button.
